Best Western Hotel
Best Western has agreed to give us a good rate of $69 per night plus tax - make sure you mention the 'Bike ride group' when you make your reservations by calling 336-454-0333 so if we have enough people sign up for rooms the rate may be reduced a little more and they may add some other benefits for us.

Pre-registered riders will be invited to join http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/ncbrevetweekend/ Which has been set up to make it easy for NC Brevet Weekend riders to communicate prior to the brevets. Membership for this group is temporary with limited approval and may be only good for a few days after the event. If you want to use the group listings you'll need to follow up on the invitation or use the following link to request approval http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/ncbrevetweekend/join

Some of you may want to sign up for the NCRandonCyclists Yahoo list http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ncrandoncyclists/join

The routes are such that most reasonably fit randonneurs should be able to finish them within the RUSA time limits. If your fitness is low or your stop times are long then time could be tight. Some of you may need a triple or low gear compact crank, but most riders should not need extra low gearing. You will need to watch your stop times and site seeing times, so consider planning to keep a steady effort. Please save some energy for the few hills and long rollers.

Drop Bags & Sag

There is no drop bag service for the 200k brevets.

Pre-Registration is strongly recommended for all events! If you do not pre-register your start may delayed or you may not be able to get credit for the brevet.

On Site Registration/inspection opens 1 hour before brevet starts each day.

Suggested donation

600k = $60 per rider
400k = $40 per rider
300k = $30 per rider
200k = $20 per rider

If you have not completed the brevet by sunset, you must have RUSA approved lights and reflective gear on and operational or you will receive a DNF for the brevet.

Brevets are generally not races for which there is no prize money, so please be polite to all volunteers, fellow riders and convenience store attendants. Helping a fellow rider to finish is allowed and should make you feel better.

Please ensure that you dress appropriately for the weather conditions and have sufficient supplies and extra funds if needed for anything that may arise while en route on brevets!

These are ACP Brevet routes .

The total time allowed from start to finish is
13.5 hours for the 200k • 20 hours for the 300k • 27 hours for the 400k • 40 hours for the 600k • 75 hours for the 1000k.
Riders must follow and complete the approved route. This route goes through several small towns in central North Carolina traveling along mostly low traffic roads. There may be some sections where traffic is high, so please ride carefully and safely at all times. The intermediate controls are where stores allow you to refuel with some basic supplies. There are also some other stores along the route where you may be able to stop and get limited nutritional supplies.

Below are basic route maps. Please note that all online images, que sheets and maps are for general reference. Offical routes will be provided at the event start for registered participants. Another map version may be available by clicking on a map.
